Well, we’re back!!

…and what a great time we had!!

Following on from our recent post, Solskala in South Africa; we were supposed to play three concerts but in the end only played two and attended a few jam sessions. The most notable concert was with South African house legends, Deep Sentiments Soultraction sessions @ DaVin Cafe in the Soshanguve township of Pretoria. There were some fantastic DJs there that night and a super-receptive audience… we miss you very much!!!!

And just for good measure, we managed to fit in a trip to the Namib Desert and what an experience that was!! You can see more desert photos on Martyn’s Flickr page.

What else to say? We had a great time combining business with pleasure and met some truly amazing people along-the-way including screen & radio legend, Treasure Tshabalala.

Unfortunately there were too many sad reminders of South Africa’s bloody history including the Hector Pietersen Memorial. You can find out who he was by licking on his name.

Street Art / Graffiti depicting various aspects of the uprising of 1976 was visible on many of the the streets in Soweto.

We also found time to visit the iconic Regina Mundi church in Rockwell, Soweto, an important place of gathering for the people of Soweto in the years before, during and after the anti-apartheid struggle.

Our heart-felt thanks go to many people including the Deep Sentiments team, all @ DaVin Cafe and one love as always to our good friend… SLAVIC!!!! BIG UP DUDE!!!
